Creme de Menthe Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 16 oz can Hershey's syrup
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup Creme de Menthe

Instructions

Cream together the 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup softened butter, and eggs. Add the 1 cup flour, salt, chocolate syrup, vanilla, and chopped nuts. Mix well, and spread on a greased jelly roll pan. Bake for 30 minutes at 350°. Cool.

Melt the next 1/2 cup butter. Add the powdered sugar and Creme de Menthe. Mix well. Spread on cooled brownies. Refrigerate to cool.

Melt the chocolate chips and 6 tablespoons butter. Let the mixture cool a little and spread on top of the first 2 layers. Put back in the refrigerator until chocolate sets. Slice.
