Date Nut Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 2 cups dates, cut up
  • 1 egg

Instructions

Mix all ingredients together. Fill greased loaf pans 1/2 to 2/3 full.

Bake 1 hour at 300°. (Adjust baking time depending on the size of your pans.)
