Gallon Jug Muffins

This is great to have on hand when you'll have company around for breakfast or brunch. Add raisins, blueberries, cranberries, nuts or whatever you wish when you are filling the muffin pan. These are my favorite muffins--not so overly sweet!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups oatmeal, cereal
  • 2 cups All Bran cereal®
  • 2 cups shredded wheat®
  • 1 cup margarine or butter, melted and cooled
  • 5 cups flour
  • 1 quart buttermilk
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 5 teaspoons baking soda

Instructions

Mix oatmeal, bran, shredded wheat and melted margarine. Add buttermilk, sugar, and eggs. Mix flour, salt, and baking soda and last. Mix well and put in covered container and refrigerate. Batter will last for 3 months. Bake in muffin tins at 375° to 400° for 20-25 minutes.
