Gramma Lucille (Aunt Mary, Aunt Barb)

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves

Instructions

Cream together first 4 ingredients till fluffy. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Form in small balls, roll in granulated sugar, place 2" apart on cookie sheet. Bake at 375° about 10 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
