Peanut Blossom Cookies

Ingredients

• 48 candy kisses
• 1 egg, slightly beaten
• 1/2 cup white sugar
• 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
• 1 3/4 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon sating soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 cup peanut butter
• 1/2 cup shortening (half butter, half margarine)
• 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

Cream together sugar and shortening. Add egg and vanilla and mix. Add remaining ingredients except candy and mix thoroughly. Shape into balls and dip in sugar. Place onto baking sheet. Bake at 375° for about 8 minutes. Take out of oven and put candy on top & bake 2 minutes longer. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
