Ingredients
- 2 cups brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda in a little hot water
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, (1/2 tsp)
- nuts, chopped finely
Instructions
Cream sugar and butter together. Add eggs and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients. Shape into 2 rolls. Wrap in wax paper or cellophane. Refrigerate until solid (overnight). Slice thin and bake at 350° (I don't know how long--start with 6 minutes. It will depend on how thinly you slice the dough.)
3 to 4 cups of flour.
1/2 to 1 cup walnuts.
