Rhubarb Nut Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 2/3 cup liquid shortening (oil)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup sour milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups diced rhubarb
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

Stir together ingredients in order given. Pour into 2 greased and floured loaf pans. Sprinkle on topping: 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon butter.

Bake at 325° for 40 minutes.
